ConQuEr
Control of Quantum Systems @Erlangen
We are a newly established research group in Quantum Theory at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg, led by Prof. Daniel Burgarth. We are interested in quantum control, open quantum systems and mathematical structures with applications in quantum technology. We are building a friendly and diverse group driven by open-ended curiosity and passion. We are particularly looking for applicants with good pencil and paper skills for analytical calculations.
News
1 Dec 2024 Marco Wiedmann comes back to the team—now as a PhD student with a Munich Quantum Valley fellowship. Welcome again!
9 Nov 2024 Elisabeth Meusert joins the team as a Master's student. Welcome!
25 Oct 2024 Another fully ConQuEr-authored paper on the arXiv: we provide quantitative bounds for the validity of the rotating-wave approximation in Dicke models. Our bounds are intrinsically state-dependent and, in particular, are significantly different for entangled and non-entangled states
22 Oct 2024 Emil Kraft joins the team as a Bachelor student. Welcome!
13 Sep 2024 Save the date: we are organizing the first [ConQuEr24] workshop, to be held here in Erlangen on December 11–13, 2024! Twelve experts on quantum control theory and related mathematical methods will present their results. Registration and abstract submission for posters is open until the end of October.
